Seattle is surrounded by natural beauty, Mt. Ranier which is the tallest mountain in the Cascades Range, evergreen forests, and Puget Sound with ferry services to various islands including Vancouver Island (Victoria) in Canada, with round the clock cultural activities, seasonal and some and year round access to skiing and water sports. San Francisco is one of the country’s most cosmopolitan cities known for cool summers, fog, steep rolling hills, eclectic mix of architecture, and landmarks including the Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars, the former Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary, Fisherman’s Wharf, and its Chinatown district which is the largest outside of Asia as well as the oldest Chinatown in North America. The City is home to world-class theatre, opera, symphony and ballet companies and boasts premieres of Broadway-bound plays and culture-changing performing arts. Los Angeles is the center of the nation’s film and television industry. Near its iconic Hollywood sign, studios such as Paramount Pictures, Universal and Warner Brothers offer behind-the-scenes tours. On Hollywood Boulevard, TCL Chinese Theatre displays celebrities’ hand and footprints, the Walk of Fame honors thousands of luminaries and the Broadway Theater district features current musical shows. Nearby attractions include the Santa Monica Pier and sunny Pacific beaches, among many attractions. San Diego is home to pristine beaches, immense Balboa Park which is the site of the renowned San Diego Zoo with over 12,000 animals of more than 650 species and subspecies on 100 acres, art galleries, museums and gardens. A deep harbor is home to a large active naval fleet, including aircraft carriers and nuclear submarines; and, the USS Midway, an aircraft-carrier-turned-museum. |
